Of Rings, Yellow Things and Cheap Juice

Bet you didn't expect this? Two posts in two days! Well i never

Yesterday turned out to be rather fun, at least in the beginning. Had two hours of lectures. The first boring us to death about the library (Yes, the Library see fit to lecture scientists about how to use the library search system. How hard can it be?) And then we had a Wooooorkshop! A Workshop on calculations involving pH and Buffers. And Logs!

As boring as it sounds, it wasn't too bad. Myself and my best friend sat comfortably at the back where very few people were, and we had a lot of nice room to stretch. I behaved in the lecture! I didn't once make hand puppets over the projector which was streaming a mere meter away from me! I have restraint...more on that later

After the lectures, my friend and i had a nice simple meal at Mungo's (Cheesy Fries! The Easy way to any student's heart). Perhaps i should introduce my friend. I won't give her name because she'd bite me if i didn't ask her first :)
In our first lecture of the year, we were kindly told by the all mighty Peter Klappa that of the people we meet in Freshers week, 10% of them we'll know for the rest of our lives. And theres a 5% chance one of them will become a future spouse. Interesting, and now myself and my friend have been pinned together with everyone expecting us to get married. Even more interesting. People are already planning the wedding. We have 20 bridesmaids, of them three are male. One guy is going to dress up as a dog and be the royal ring bearer and our Cake is going to be layered...with pizza fillings! How supremely delightful!

Aaaaanywho, back to the recap. We walked down into town (not having the faintest idea how to get to the main street via the back-streets of Canterbury) and finally found the city centre! it was bustling and awesome. I did take the camera but forgot to charge the battery. Shame. Oh well! 27 weeks left of Stage 1.

And i swear, that day, i saw more rings than i had ever seen in my prior 19 years! I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to rings but i only recently found out that not only, for a marriage, need to purchase an engagement ring AND a wedding ring, but you also need to get an ETERNITY ring for the future >.> Seriously, come one year my wife will have to make do with a steel loop, maybe with a childrens plastic gem attached with ducktape.

After two hours (yes! Two hours) of Gem shopping, we headed back empty handed. Our plans were to find a replacement ring which was lost a few nights before (Brief plea, if anyone knows where one might purchase a Sterling Silver ring with three WHITE cubic zirconias in the below style, send me an comment!)

Anyone who is "hip and happen'n" with the young folk will know the "Yellow Car" game. Basically, if you see a yellow car, you hit (with ranging force) the other person. We were playing this and would you believe it, of the ten thousand cars at least in canterbury, there must be only four yellow ones! So with a lack of yellow cars, we started to branch out

Yellow Van
Yellow Bus
Partially-Yellow Bus
Yellow Coat
Yellow Sign
Yellow dot of paint on the floor

And you get the picture. The mind wanders. We got the bus back up to the university and parted ways.
From then i had a niiiicee Student-like nap.

For ten minutes.

Only thing which can cure boredom...

JUICE!
Student Union Essentials is doing this awesome bargain where you can either buy a Co-Op juice (1 litre) for £1.38, or three for £2.50. I am now happily chugging Tropical Fruit Juice drink and i know i shouldn't be drinking as much as i am!

So much for Restraint!
I'm off to have some more!
